Our Director for Evangelical Mission, Deacon Dianne Johnson, has announced her intention to retire this fall. Her final day in this role will be October 31. While we will greatly miss her enthusiasm, wisdom, creativity, and compassion, we want to send her off to her next adventure in style.
Please plan to join us for a gratitude and sending Open House Celebration! Sunday, October 29, 2pm-4:30pm (join us any time, presentation time at 3pm) at First Lutheran Church in Bothell (10207 NE 183rd St, Bothell)
We give thanks for Dianne's MANY years of service! She began public ministry at Lord of Life Lutheran Church in Renton in September 1999, and in 2004 she was commissioned as an Associate in Ministry (now an ELCA Deacon). Over the years Dianne has faithfully listened to where the Spirit has called her - including serving as a member of the Synod Global Mission Committee, the Synod Council, and the Synod Hunger Team. She said yes to chairing a Synod Assembly Planning Team, the Evangelical Outreach Team, and she led a very successful Synod Malaria Campaign. Since March 2017, Dianne has been a valued member of our synod staff, serving first for a year as an Administrative Assistant to the former Director for Evangelical Mission (DEM), then in 2018 accepting the call to serve as our DEM. We are so grateful for her many contributions!
We hope to see you at the open house celebration on October 29.
If you are unable to attend, you are invited to mail a card of gratitude:
